Alexandre Gama was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1958 and dreamed as a young boy to be an artist and advertising executive. He graduate from the esteemed Armando Alvares Penteado Foundation (FAAP) in 1981 and managed to obtain a position as a copywriter. Although that was not his dream job, Alexandre stayed focused and performed his job well. After nine years as a copywriter at Ogilvy & Mather, Gama’s break finally came when he was offered a position as a Creative Director for DM9.
Gama ventured out on his own, starting his own firm named Neogama in 1999. That is when his work really started to take off as the firm won a Golden Lion at the Cannes Film Festival that same year. He would go on to win another 22 Golden Lions in the years following, as Neogama was the fastest growing agency in Brazil in its first three years.
